HCA Newsletter February 2018
The Hypnotherapy Council of Australia (HCA) National Board (NB) has responded to the Western Australian HaDSCO call for submissions regarding the implementation of the National Code of Conduct for Health Care Workers. Our thanks for PHA for bring this matter to our attention.
As the peak body for the profession, the HCA is on government lists for contact regarding enquiries being made on relevant matters, but we all know these things don’t always go to plan, so the HCA NB really appreciates our member organisations bringing any relevant calls for submissions to the board’s attention for consideration.
HCA National Register (HCANR) is well underway with the listing of “HCA Registered Hypnotherapists”. The website is live at hcaaustralianhypnotherapistsregister.com.au. We have had great interest in the register from practitioners, and we would encourage the associations to remind their qualified hypnotherapists of this opportunity for additional status and free listing to 1 Oct 2018, and to get their applications in. Details and application form are on the register website.
This Register provides a simple, single point of contact for the public and other professional bodies to find qualified hypnotherapists Australia wide, crossing the boundaries of associations while still recognising their role. It also has additional and important value for both practitioner and the profession.
This HCA National Register is an opportunity for the profession to establish the nationally recognisable brand, HCA Registered Hypnotherapist, an identity that signifies qualified hypnotherapists who meet professional standards of practice. This national identity helps to further unite the profession in the eyes of the government, and other professional bodies. And importantly, it will help the public differentiate hypnotherapists who meet professional standards, and those who may not.
Now that the HCANR is live, if you have not yet lodged your application for listing, and are a fully qualified practising hypnotherapist and member of a HCA member association, then please go to hcaaustralianhypnotherapistsregister.com.au where more details are available and if eligible, you can lodge on line:)
In accordance with our revised schedule, the next full HCA National Board meeting will be 7 March 2018 although subcommittees may meet in the meantime as required.
