I work with individual clients, adults and children, as well as with both small and large groups.
My individual clients present with a wide range of issues, all of which respond well to NLP, Hypnosis and/or Counselling. My background and training, with my special interest in a systems approach, lead me to see presenting problems in the context of clients’ life experiences. I aim to tap into a client’s innate capability to self-heal and to open their mind to their personal power and choices. I adhere to gentle therapy and my mantra is:
“what is the smallest thing you can do for someone that will make the biggest difference?”
My group work may be informational, as when I speak to interest groups from organisations, or it may be in the form of personal development workshops. I cover a wide range of topics with relevance to my knowledge about mind, emotions, parenting, inner child work, communicating and relating etc.
Initially, after 22 years of school teaching and educational consulting, I re-trained in1998 as a counsellor through Interrelate, where I became interested in the Family Systems Approach to therapy. I then extended my knowledge by training in NLP at practitioner level, and about the same time I was accredited as a Crisis Counsellor with Lifeline, where I worked firstly as a telephone counsellor and then became Lifeline’s face-to-face counsellor for Nimbin. At that point, I did my hypnotherapy studies in Analytic Hypnosis and in Ericksonian Hypnosis, and also went on to become a Master Practitioner NLP, with a major interest in therapeutic metaphor and in behavioural modelling.
Besides being a therapist and a speaker and presenter, I am a Reiki Master and a Spiritual Healer. I have other passions, too, my family being first and foremost. I love my garden, and I really enjoy cooking, And I am also a sculptor, which has a surprising affinity to the work I do helping people re-adjust or re-create their lives. All of this is very joyful and great therapy for me, as well!
